Watercolor

 is my passion

Olga Melnikova is a contemporary watercolor painter known for her vibrant use of color and emotional depth in her works. Born into a creative family, where music and painting were ever-present, Olga developed a passion for graphics from an early age. Despite her artistic inclinations, she pursued a degree in economics and spent many years working in that field. Art remained her cherished hobby, and she honed her skills by attending an oil painting studio led by a local artist in her hometown of Vyborg, Russia.
In 2015, Olga relocated to Germany, which marked a significant turning point in her artistic journey. She decided to dedicate herself fully to watercolor painting, a medium that allowed her to explore the interplay of colors, light, and shadow. Each of her artworks captures a unique mood and evokes a range of emotions, reflecting her deep connection with the subjects she portrays.
Olga is an active member of several prestigious art organizations, including the Society of German Watercolorists (DAG), the Neuer Kunstverein Mittelrhein (NKVM), the International Watercolor Society (IWS), the German artist community, and others. Her dedication to her craft has led to participation in numerous exhibitions, international watercolor festivals, and various art events over the past few years.
An avid traveler, Olga often creates quick abstract sketches during her journeys, drawing inspiration from the diverse cultures and landscapes she encounters. Additionally, she shares her passion for watercolor painting by conducting both online and offline courses and demonstrations, including plein-air sessions.
Many of Olga's works are now held in private collections by enthusiasts of watercolor art, showcasing her growing influence in the contemporary art scene.
